The short answer is yes you can install laminate flooring over a ceramic tile floor if the tile floor is in good condition and the tile are well attached level and flat.

Use a thin set product to install ceramic tile over existing tiles.
As with any flooring surface if there are major depressions and extensive cracking the issue may be with the subflooring.
First the tile should be in good shape level and free of depressions before installing laminate over tile.
There are a few precautions though.
Once you ve removed lose or broken pieces patch the empty sections with a liquid cement or mortar letting it settle level with the tile floor.

You can lay laminate over tile as long as the tile is in good condition which means no broken or loose pieces.
Once the tile is leveled off your next step is to remove the toilet so that the floor can be laid under it not cut around it.
If the tiles aren t flat you need to level the floor using leveling compound.
Since tile is a durable substrate there is little risk of deterioration when another flooring substance is placed over it.
Next if the tile s joints are deep you ll want regrout them to bring them flush with the tile so that the lines won t telegraph show through the vinyl floor.
Also consider that doors cabinets and other hardware might need to be reworked or replaced with new ones to compensate for the higher floor.
While the manufacturer s instructions for installing this floating vinyl plank flooring were pretty sufficient i wanted to share some additional tips and lessons we took away from the process along with a summary of the basic steps we took to install the lvt flooring.
Mix a cementitious floor leveling compound such as henry 555 level pro or levelquik self leveling underlayment with water in a bucket until the mixture is pourable.
You should install an underlayment before laying the floor but you may need to install transition strips.
Pour the mixture onto the floor and distribute it with a trowel or float until the entire floor has more or less the same amount of material and is flush with the tops of the tiles.
