Fix concrete subfloors with a patching compound and for wood subfloors remove protruding nails and replace any damaged boards.

You will see a gap on the long side joints when the plank is rotated down.
Work with great care otherwise you might scratch the jambs.
After removing the existing flooring baseboards and quarter moulding check that the subfloor is solid flat and clean.
Laminate flooring is ready to install as long as the base floor is clean and smooth.
If your concrete passes the moisture test then plastic sheeting at least 6 mils thick will prevent moisture from getting into your laminate flooring.

Determine how much flooring and materials will be needed.
