Slide the first two rows into their final position and repeat steps 5 and 6 above using the same alternating plank technique to complete the process. Multiply length times width of the room. Where plastic sheets must be joined overlap the sheets by several inches and use strong vinyl tape to secure them. If you have a vinyl floor you may be able to install your flooring directly on top of it.

Leave the flooring in the room for three days before installation. Add about 10 to that number to account for any possible mistakes and warped boards. This will help to acclimate the flooring to the room temperatures and humidity. Install a plastic vapor barrier.
