The product we are using in this video is lowes quick step. Laminate flooring material is a man made product that sprung out of the do it yourself era giving homeowners the ability to have a simulated wood. If the floor was flat level i would just cover it up and assume it s fine. The concrete sub floor seems flat enough for the flooring except for around the floor drain.

When installing a floating laminate floor you don t need to use any adhesive nails or staples. It dropps about 1 2 in about a 8 radius around the drain 16 diameter total. It s flat ish for most of the room but the 2 feet or so around the drain are sloped quite a bit. I m trying to figure the best way to install the flooring in that area.

I was thinking about scribing sleepers in that area to make it flat enough to place the flooring. There is obviously some grading in the rest of the room but it is very suttle and smooth so i don t think it would be an issue. But the floor slopes towards the drain pretty aggressively.
